In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the volunteer activities and programs of Detroit Blight Busters and related events and activities, I the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that: Risk of Injury: I understand and acknowledge that the activities I engage in as a volunteer may involve physical labor, contact with unidentified or unfamiliar objects, potential exposure to hazardous materials, and other potential risks of bodily injury or damage to my personal property. I hereby accept and assume all such risks, both known and unknown, and assume all responsibility for my participation in these activities. Release of Liability: I hereby release, discharge, and covenant not to sue Detroit Blight Busters, its respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers, and employees, other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises on which the activity takes place (each considered one of the "Releasees" herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations; and I further agree that if, despite this release, I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees named above, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the Releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost any may incur as the result of such claim. Medical Treatment: I hereby consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary if I am injured or require medical attention during my participation in the activities. I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for all costs related to such medical treatment. Photography/Video Release: I understand that during my participation in and attendance at the activities, I may be photographed or videotaped. I hereby consent to the use of my image or likeness in any official documentary, promotional material, or publication by Detroit Blight Busters without compensation. Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver and release of liability and fully understand its terms. I understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing the agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend by my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
